FRIENDS ONLY.

I've seen some things, man, and some stuff! I wouldn't recommend it!
Comment here if you want to be on my flist. Tell me how you found me and what we have in common.

Common fandom-ish topics include TV shows like Lost and American Idol, among others, and various musicians. I listen to a lot of foreign music so if that's not your thing then you might not like reading my entries. But the majority of my entries are about real life happenings, family interactions, and general observations about the world we live in. I also talk a lot about my cat and the weather. So if you're not genuinely interested in me and my life then you probably won't care too much about my entries. I talk about a lot of personal things anyway, so I'm pretty picky with who I want reading it.

My user info basically covers all the things I'm interested in, so check that out if you're curious. In general, I love science and nature, and my current plan is to become an anthropologist. As a consequence of that, a lot of my posts turn into long rambles or rants about current events, human behavior, and once in a while I'll spiral into a spiel about the meaning of life. I don't usually LJ-cut my rambly posts, so if that's a pet peeve of yours then you can either, a) get over it, or b) stay away from my journal.

I'm a writer, even though I don't write as much as I'd like to, and I also have a photography journal: [info]andourfingers. If anthropology is my mind, then photography is my heart and writing is my soul. Most of what you will learn about me will come from pages in a notebook or through a lens. I consider myself a very sensitive and intuitive person, although I can be sassy or crassy if the mood strikes. I've been called a ball-buster and I'm very caustic about things that rub me the wrong way. Basically, I'm a person you don't want to cross. But don't let that scare you off; I also consider myself an open-minded person. I try to understand situations from all angles and I like to know what I'm talking about before I say anything. Usually.

So. Those few paragraphs should give you a good idea of who I am. I like learning about different cultures and people, so I love friends from other countries! There are a few things I will not tolerate, though: racism, homophobia, and ignorance in general. If you think one race is superior over another, or that homosexuality is a choice, then I will not associate with you. Do us all a favor and educate yourself before you come out in public.

Also, I like my men tall, dark, and with an accent. Just so you know.

Have you ever considered converting to another religion?

View other answers

I was raised in a fundamentalist Mormon group (a.k.a. cult), then my family left the cult and since then I've been back and forth between neutral agnosticism and full-blown atheism. Knowing what I know, and going through what I went through, I don't think I'm ever gonna go anywhere near any religion ever again. I can appreciate the mysteries of the world as they are. I'm here to enjoy life, not to try to force my beliefs about it on other people. I like balancing the known and the unknown, and I'm in no hurry to try to find scientific proof of the existence, or lack thereof, of a supreme being. Just leave me alone and don't preach your bullshit at me.

Guys, I'm making a decision.

I'm going on hiatus.

This is something I have to do. This computer is sucking the life out of me and I can't do it anymore. There are more important things going on in my life right now and I really can't spend all this precious time on the internet. I have to finish Environmental Science and World History by March or I lose those credits. And I can't lose them. I can't keep putting my education, my future, off. I hope you guys understand.

I know I won't be perfect with this. I know once in a while the temptation will be strong to get on the computer. But I'll try my hardest not to. If I do, I hope it'll be just to get on the Keystone website to turn in crap and to research and stuff like that.

This will last until I'm done with what needs to be done. I'd appreciate it if you guys didn't send me e-mails or anything, because I just need to cut this off completely and if I hear from you guys saying how much you'll miss me... I just can't hear it. You get it, right?

Okay, after I post this I'm going to turn off my computer. Please don't be sad, guys, because if any of you really love me, you know that this is the best thing for me.

See you soon.

Just a little reminder for everyone, even if you've heard it before.

SHOULD HAVE = SHOULD'VE. It is not should of. NOT. Not. No, nono. SHOULD HAVE. HAVE. HAVE. Okay?

YOU + ARE = YOU'RE. Not your. NOT NOT NOT. FOR GOD'S SAKE PEOPLE. GO BACK TO 3RD GRADE ENGLISH.

I know there's more, but I can't think of them, and I think my brain might explode if I do.

FOR THE LOVE OF JESUS AND MUHAMMAD AND BUDDHA AND VISHNU AND QUETZALCOATL AND ZEUS, GET IT FUCKING RIGHT! Jesus fucking Christ.

Spoiler alert: Spoilers up until 2.10
Summary: Adam remembers how it used to be, and plans for the future. Adam Monroe character study.
AN: I'm really proud of this. After going through a dry spell, I stood on my doorstep in the rain and this idea just hit me and I knew I had to write it. I hope you enjoy!
